Dear visitor, welcome to my online profile on the Mantra Care website! My name is Eleni Pateraki and I am a Mental Health Counselor and Parent effectiveness educator based in Crete (Greece) and a full member of Hellenic and European Associations of Counselling accordingly. I offer individual and group therapy sessions to adults and adolescents living in Crete and online, both in Greek and English languages (I am a native Greek speaker and an advanced user of English). I am also experienced in organizing and coordinating: a) experiential workshops on basic psychological concepts (boundaries, co-dependence, inner child, family relations, procrastination, etc), b) psychoeducational seminars for adults and adolescents, and c) self-help groups. Additionally, I have voluntarily worked for 2 years as a counselor in a local phone-counseling line, and I got recently trained in the Parent Effectiveness Model of Thomas Gordon by Gordon Hellas (under certification).

The psychotherapeutic method I use in my sessions is called NDI (Non-Directive Intervention). It is a humanistic integrative approach that follows each therapee’s pace with respect to their inner journey. As an NDI therapist, I make sure to create enough and secure space for the client so that they can discover and connect with their authentic self, explore their true emotions and visceral desires with courage and honesty, and finally, feel empowered enough to start fulfilling their own potential. Although NDI is a non-directive method, the NDI therapist is more than free and welcome to openly make specific suggestions to the client according to their inquiries on potential ways of working on them or resolving them, without ever imposing those suggestions. The therapist is not there to exercise any kind of power to the client, but to accompany him/her/them to his/her/their own unique journey of self-fulfillment.
