Mental Health Counsellor (tr.), Play therapist, Kindergarten teacher, Special Education Teacher (tr.)
After finishing my university degree in pre-school education at the university of Crete, Greece and qualifying as a kindergarten teacher, I worked as a kindergarten teaching assistant to gain further practical experience (2015). This inspired me to study for a Play Therapy Diploma in order to develop more knowledge and skills in the field of child mental welfare, an area I feel passionate about.
After qualifying, I worked as a professional Play Therapist at the Performing Arts and Mental Health centre on Crete. While working with children with special educational needs, and their parents, I decided to do a Master’s degree in ‘Counselling Psychology and Counselling in Special – General Education & Health’ (2019 – March 2022) through the University of Thessaly, Greece. My ongoing practice for my Masters focuses on health counselling (Dementia & Cancer) which is another area of interest for me.
With my Masters to be completed in March 2022 (final degree in June 2022), I am now eager to find new work which would combine and use all the knowledge and skills I have developed as a teacher, therapist and counsellor.
