Hi! My name is Lorena and I’m a clinical psychologist and criminologist. Although I was born in Spain, my interest for expanding my knowledge in other cultures and language prompted me to move to London over 10 years ago, where my interest only intensified. For the last decade I have been living and working in New York City, which allowed me to understand the difficulties that may arise during the necessary acculturation process, the personal enrichment and struggle that comes with adapting to a new life abroad, which certainly has an impact on mental health. Additionally, my work in this city with victims of different crimes and relatives of missing persons made me realize the impact that going through a traumatic situation like this has, which drove me to pursue further education and training in the field of trauma and dissociation.

Both my personal and work life are closely linked to the North American culture as well as the European, and I have experience in working with both clinical and forensic population, making my background versatile and eclectic, with a strong desire to contribute to improve people’s lives and mental health.
