Online therapy in Kuwait City

There are many ways to see a therapist. One of the most popular methods is online therapy in Kuwait City. This can be done with or without video, depending on your preference. Some therapists only offer live sessions while others incorporate audio calls as well. Regardless which you choose, it’s best to first check their qualifications and client reviews before making your decision. Ultimately, there is no better way to see a therapist than having a live session. That being said, you should also be comfortable using the chosen provider’s communication tools as well as their policy for refunds and cancellations.

So, what are some of the benefits to online therapy in Kuwait City? Well, they include the convenience of scheduling your session time, confidentiality and privacy all without having to leave your home or office. Some individuals have issues being seen in person but don’t mind speaking over the phone. Whether you choose to speak face-to-face or over the phone, both methods provide the same benefits. Therefore, you should choose a provider that offers face-to-face sessions or one that offers audio calls which can be done over the phone.

There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

Mental Health in Kuwait City

The Ministry of Health in Kuwait has published a study in 2017 about mental health conditions. The study is based on 14,141 respondents across Kuwaiti Governorates. Among the mental health condition problems that were studied are depression, anxiety, and stress.

Approximately 5.5% of the Kuwaiti population suffers from depression. The research found that there were higher rates of depression in females compared to males (6.1% vs 4%). Depression was also shown to increase with age; older people are more likely to experience depression than younger people, while this trend is reversed for anxiety and stress (see below).

Approximately 12% of respondents showed signs of anxiety while 2% revealed high scores on a screening test for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The study demonstrated that women experience anxiety more frequently than men at approximately 15%, while 5% of men experienced PTSD compared to 2% of women.

Approximately 9% of the sample reported suffering from stress. Stress was not found to be correlated with age. Children of age 0-14 years showed the lowest levels of stress whilst those aged 25-44 years displayed the highest percent. Respondents with a Bachelor’s degree were more likely to report high stress than those respondents who have not been educated beyond high school. Stress rates for women and men are similar (9%).

The Ministry of Health has also found that unemployment was linked to depression: unemployed people were more likely to experience anxiety and stress than employed people (8% vs 3% and 10% vs 5%, respectively). On the other hand, having a job seems to positively affect mental health; those who reported working as employees or as individuals had lower rates of anxiety (6%) and stress (4%) compared to those who worked as unpaid family workers (anxiety 9%, stress 7%).

The study showed that those who experienced major life events such as the death of family members and relatives, the loss of a job or career, and divorce were more likely to suffer from anxiety and/or depression. Those who had good coping mechanisms when dealing with life events were less likely to develop depression or anxiety.
