Online therapy in Warsaw

Online therapy in Warsaw is becoming more common as the world becomes more connected.

Online therapists help those who may feel anxious about meeting face to face in a therapist’s room, those who can’t afford offline therapy or those that simply prefer the convenience and anonymity of online counselling and psychotherapy.

The world of online counselling is vast, but many people are still unconvinced about the validity of online therapy, with some feeling that it is not real therapy.

However, there are plenty of therapists who can provide solid support and guidance through your issues via Skype or other messaging apps.

There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

Mental Health in Warsaw

Mental health is a major public health issue in many countries. In Warsaw, the statistics show that the number of people who have a mental disorder called “substance addiction disorder” was nearly 4% or 79 763 out of 1 398 329 citizens. There was also an increase in the number of people reporting depression from 5% to 6%. There are around 60 000 citizens who have a severe mental illness in Warsaw out of a population of over 1 million.

There is a significant lack of mental health services for children and adolescents throughout Poland. In the 2011–2012 Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study, only 49% of boys and 44% of girls aged 13 to 17 years indicated that they would feel comfortable seeking help from a psychologist. This means that there are around 700 000 adolescents who may need psychological help, but don’t seek it because they fear judgement or rejection from their peers.

The number of doctors specialising in psychiatry is also low, which leads to long waiting lists and prevents many people from getting treatment early on when it could prove more and lower relapse rates. The World Health Organization has advocated for an increase in the number of psychiatrists, psychologists and other mental health professionals throughout Poland.
